Our representatives are ready to guide you through filing your RV claim every step of the way so that your claims experience is as smooth and stress-free as possible

Call the Good Sam Insurance Agency 24 hours a day, seven days a week at
1-888-514-1116 to report your claim.

File a Claim

To file your initial claim, call 1-888-514-1116 to speak with a Good Sam Insurance claims representative. We’ll need some basic information to get your claim started, such as:

  • Your name
  • Insurance information
  • RV Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • License plate number
  • Description of damages to your RV
  • Location of your RV

We will also assign you to a claims adjuster who specializes in RV claims. Following your initial claims call, you will receive an email from your claims adjuster that includes their contact information and your claim number. You can also view the status of your claim by logging into your Good Sam Insurance account or calling 1-888-514-1116.

Start the Investigation

Start the investigation and appraisal process.

After your initial claim has been filed, your Good Sam Insurance claims adjuster will get in touch with you, and serve as your primary point of contact throughout the entire claims process.

From the moment you file your claim to the time your RV repairs are complete, Good Sam Insurance will be with you every step of the way. During your initial claims call, a Good Sam claims rep will:

  • Set a timeline of the claims process and explain what you can expect
  • Gather information about your claim and damages
  • Confirm your contact information and preferred method of communication
  • Help you understand your insurance policy and explain how your coverages apply to your damages in detail
  • Determine your immediate plans and incorporate them into your claim timeline. (For example, if you’re on the road, where are you headed next?)
  • Answer any questions you have
You will primarily work with the adjuster assigned to your claim who will do things like setting up an inspection of your RV if necessary, ensuring that an estimate that includes repair costs is completed, and oversee the repair process with a repair shop. If you were injured in an accident, you may also work with a medical claims representative who will review your injuries, treatment plan, and coverages.

Call 1-888-514-1116 to speak with an agent.

Schedule RV Inspection

Once you’ve submitted all of the required information, your dedicated claims adjuster may schedule time for you to meet with an RV appraiser wherever you are — at home, a repair shop, or even a campground. And for certain types of claims, and to assist in getting you back on the road quickly, Good Sam Insurance Policyholders may use MyClaimPics to submit photos of damage before the adjuster arrives.

After the initial inspection, your claims adjuster will review the estimate with you and explain how much the repairs cost and what you may be responsible for paying. The estimate will also take any special features into consideration, ensuring that your RV is repaired to its previous condition.

How much you pay to repair your RV depends on the coverages you have. You can help speed up this process by having your title and proof of ownership documents handy. We’ll subtract your deductible from your payment.

Schedule RV Repairs

Once you have an estimate, it’s time to schedule the repairs. Good Sam Insurance has established partnerships with direct repair shops around the country. A lifetime warranty is automatically included with repairs made by a direct repair shop for as long as you own or lease your RV.

You’re also welcome to choose your own repair shop. If you choose to forgo getting repairs, we’ll send you a check for the estimated amount, minus your applicable deductible. If you finance your RV, your lender may require you to get repairs.

Wait for Repairs

After you’ve scheduled your repair, simply drop off your RV at your chosen repair shop. Your tow to the shop could even be covered by insurance!

As soon as your RV is at the repair shop, your claims adjuster will supervise the repair process, set a timeline, and follow up with you as often as necessary. If additional damage is uncovered during the repair process, your adjuster will update the estimate and help you get the repairs you need. If any needed parts aren’t in stock, your adjuster will be sure to advise you and set a new timeline for repairs. Best of all, when your repairs are complete, all you have to do is pick up your vehicle and hit the road!

Still have questions about filing your RV claim? No problem! If there’s something we haven’t covered here, just call 1-888-514-1116 to speak with your claims adjuster — we’re happy to help!
